Volunteer

Volunteer assignments are now available for students and citizens to participate in!

Volunteer Recylcling SquadWe are a volunteer based organization. Volunteers have greatly contributed to many campaigns in the past including the Halton Eco Festival that we organized from 2001 to 2017 at the Glen Abbey Community Centre and annual Oakville Peace Festivals from 1987 to 2010. Volunteers have assisted in campaigns against war and nuclear weapons and campaigns in support of native rights in Canada including the Innu in their successful opposition to low level military flight training. Volunteers staffed a downtown Peace Centre at 148 Kerr Street from 1992 to 2007.

New volunteers can make a big difference in our community.

Plug in now! We are looking to create some new campaigns and want you to tell us what is important to you when you think about peace, ecology and human rights. We also need new volunteers to help us to improve on our ongoing annual campaigns.

Please note: High School students can complete their mandatory 40 hours of volunteer service required for graduation from high school when volunteering with OCCPEHR.

We have started planning for the 35th annual Clean Up for Earth Day now scheduled for Saturday, April 18, 2026. Volunteers can now assist with: outreach to past volunteers and supporters; fundraising by gaining sponsorships from Oakville businesses and community organizations; data entry; outreach to schools; graphic design and poster generation; staffing an information table at community events organized by others; and, social media outreach.

Don’t delay, volunteer today! Thank you very much.
