Volunteer assignments are now available for students and citizens to participate in and contribute to!
Volunteers have contributed in the past to annual environmental fairs called the Halton Eco Festival that we organized from 2001 to 2017, annual Peace Festivals from 1992 to 2018, campaigns against nuclear weapons and campaigns in support of native rights in Canada. Volunteers staffed a downtown Peace Centre at 148 Kerr Street from 1992 to 2007.
New volunteers who want to make a big difference in our community are now being recruited.
We are looking to create some new campaigns and want you to tell us what is important to you when you think about peace, ecology and human rights. We also need new volunteers to help us to improve on our ongoing annual campaigns.
We are looking for students who want to complete at least 40 hours of volunteer service required for graduation from high school.
VOLUNTEER ASSIGNMENTS ARE NOW AVAILABLE
The 33rd annual Earth Day Clean Up will take place on Saturday, April 20 from 9 to 11 am at more than 65 locations throughout Oakville. Pitch-in!
Thank you very much.
Sincerely,
Stephen Dankowich, executive director,
Oakville Community Centre for Peace, Ecology and Human Rights
