Please note that we do not have a physical Community Centre although we would love to have the support of the community for a meeting place like we once had from 1992 to 2007 with our Oakville Peace Centre located at 148 Kerr Street at Rebecca Street. It was a great location too as it was downtown and with a bus stop at the corner making it accessible to all.
It’s hard to maintain campaigns and do more for the community when the organization is home-based and without a public space for volunteers to gather at.
We believe that the community needs a new Oakville Peace Centre as a place for volunteers to gather, that belongs to no one but everyone, that can host meetings, social events and gatherings and become a space for the development of new campaigns and events in support of the cause of peace, ecology and human rights.
